Today I sat down to think about some goals for the next upcoming months (did I tell you that March was awesome, art-wise? I finished 7 pieces, attended 2 classes, applied to and was accepted into a show, & completed a commission). I think I will share my new, unedited goals with you, because… well, this is why I might appear a little bit crazed.
1. Network with all the people. All the cool people, all the artists, all the craftsmen in the Guild, all the journalists, all the poets and novelists and my fellow non-profit administrators.
2. Learn everything, ever. A few examples: everything there is to know about mokuhanga. Everything there is to know about encaustic. Everything there is to know about art therapy for those with Alzheimer’s. Everything there is to know about social enterprise. Everything there is to know about grading knitting patterns. Everything there is to know about sewing.
3. Make art all the time.
4. Have the cleanest, nicest house in the world.
5. Cook chef-worthy food, every meal.
I could go on. But I won’t. I think 5 impossible goals is enough, don’t you?
This brings me to my latest tattoo idea, and it’s my favorite so far. On the back of my hand, I think I’ll get “To Do” tattooed in a lovely script font. With a fancy line underneath. Then I can write my ever-evolving to-do list in a place it won’t get constantly lost. I’ll just have to avoid showering until I’ve checked off those items. Sounds like the perfect prod towards productivity. Yes?
